Highway carnage continues
03 Feb 10 | THE Princes Highway has claimed its eighth life in less than a month. Seventeen-year-old Kylie Poyner of Pambula was killed in the early hours of Sunday morning when her Hyundai Excel left the roadway and collided with a tree approximately one kilometre north of Eden.
Strike too close for comfort
03 Feb 10 | A LIGHTNING strike has splintered a 50-metre high tree and has caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to a home in Ulladulla. Kerrie Nichols said the lightning strike hit a silky oak in her family's backyard shortly after 4.40am last Thursday morning.
03 Feb 10 | FORMER Shoalhaven mayor Greg Watson wants council to look at building a new library - either attached or detached - next to the existing Civic Centre. Cr Watson has submitted a Notice of Motion, to be discussed at the next council meeting, that staff investigate the feasibility of upgrading the Civic Centre and constructing a new library.
