The event, originally billed for Friday, October 27, has been rescheduled to allow appropriate planning time, a spokesperson for the alliance said.
“We decided we need more time to attract people wanting to come to the area for the high calibre event,” the spokesperson said.
“We just simply didn’t have enough time to really do it properly
We had a month, but really we needed more. It is a very top end event and really we need to do it right.
“We had to bite the bullet and say no, this is too rushed.”
The event featured dishes from chefs at Rick Stein at Bannisters, St Isidore, Tallwood Eatery and Cupitt’s Vineyard Kitchen, served at Bawley Point’s Willinga Park.
Guests at the progressive dinner were to enjoy canapes delivered by each restaurant followed by four courses that each chef has designed especially for the event.
“In an unique twist, all of the chefs work in the kitchen to create the meals together and look forward to the event each year as they are able to try something new and work with each other in a collaborative way,” a spokesperson said.
“All four restaurants have seasonally focused menus incorporating the best locally sourced produce whenever possible and this will be reflected in the Spring-inspired menu.
“Each course has been paired with the perfect wine to ensure the dinner has every aspect covered.”
“The purpose of it is to share our enthusiasm for good food and cooking and the great produce, particularly seafood, of this area,” the group’s patron Rick Stein said.
Tickets already purchased for the October event will be honoured.
