The ground was still wet under foot however it was great to see the boys and girls back out on the paddock last Saturday enjoying themselves.
With no games for our international teams it freed up field one for the morning which saw our U6s and U7s having their first ever run on the main field and boy did they enjoy the opportunity.
Once again thank you to those who showed up early and not only helped us set up but also helped clean up the mess that had been left around the clubhouse, boys and girls we ask you to respect your home ground and place all rubbish in the bins, there are plenty around the complex.
Last weekend saw the CRL Southern Country Championships being played in Wollongong.
We have three representatives Jye Hendrie in the U14s team and Jarred Hendrie & Riley Wooden in the U15s.
Both teams had strong Saturdays finishing the day with two wins each making their way to the semi finals on Sunday morning.
The U14s took on Group 6 in the semi final match and were too strong for the boys from the bush winning the tight match 8-6.
The U15s took on Group 9 in their semi final and again where too strong for their counterparts winning the match 16-4.
In a show of just how strong our merged competition is, the two Group 7 teams took on our neighbouring and merged comp allies Illawarra in both finals.
Unfortunately the finals results did not go our way with Illawarra winning both matches.
To Jye, Jarrod and Riley we are proud of each of you and hope you enjoyed your journey.
Something for all players to remember is that it is not always the destination but the journey taken to get there that is more important.
The clubs canteen for Eli is finally underway, thank you to everyone who has purchased and donated over these days.
In just a few short hours we have raised over $350 for Eli and his family. We will be continuing to run the canteen on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3.30pm with hot food, slushies, coffee and cakes on sale for the entire month of June.
So boys and girls instead of venturing to other outlets after school before coming to training please come along and support the canteen fundraiser for Eli.
In a gracious move by one our of sponsors Stewarts Catering the club has been provided a number of “Player of the match” awards which can be redeemed at the Sea Salt Restaurant for either a kids meal or a half chicken schnitzel and chips meal.
These will be awarded during home games in each grades, thanks Sally for this donation.
Training shorts are now in stock, they are $30 per pair and we have a large variety of sizes.
They are available through the canteen along with other great items of Doggies merchandise, if you are interested in purchasing any items please contact Sharon on 0406 977 101.
Coaches, trainers & leaguesafes please ensure you have your photo ID card and armband on at the commencement of your game or you will be asked to leave the designated field area.
State of Origin game 1 was a blockbuster game which means that games 2 & 3 will be huge as well with NSW on the front foot.
If you are not going to the game we encourage you and your families to come along to the and enjoy the game and atmosphere at the Ex Servos.
The club the largest TV in the area, the Sea Salt Restaurant has Schnitty night with a half chicken schnitty with chips and gravy $8 and a loaded schnitty with chips and salad or veg for $15.
So come along and support the club who supports the Doggies.
We have over the past few weeks had a lot of lost property left behind post training and matches, so if you are missing any items please do come and see us in the canteen after training on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
For those teams playing at home each weekend we would like to remind you that the club requires your assistance to make the day run smoothly.
If your team is participating in the first game we ask that the parents and supporters assist in setting up the fields and the teams that are involved in the last games of the day that parents and supporters assist in packing up the fields and returning all items neatly to the sheds.
Each team is required to provide 2 parents to assist in the canteen and on the BBQ in the hour before their game.
The canteen is one of the clubs biggest revenue raisers, without parent helpers the canteen will not be able to operate.
Our weekly meat raffles at the Ex Servos continue to surge along and this week we ask for the parents and families of the U9s to come along and support and assist us with the raffles.
Ticket sales commence at 6pm, with the draw for the 40+ meat trays commencing at 7pm.
By supporting our raffles you in turn are supporting our major sponsors of Ulladulla Ex Servos and Sea Salt Restaurant.
The club has lots to offer on Friday night apart from our raffles, there is the kids club, great value meals in the Sea Salt Restaurant, members badge draw and Friday night footy live on the big screen.
We would like to remind all parents and supporters that our fields are smoke free venues, there is no smoking permitted at anytime within the gated area.
We would also like to remind everyone that there is no parking within the fields at anytime unless you have gained permission from the committee, there are currently too many parents driving into the fields especially on training nights, we ask this for the safety of all users of the fields.
The club would like to thank our major sponsors Milton Ulladulla Ex Servos and Stewarts Catering for all their support.
The club looks forward to proudly representing all of our sponsors this season and thank you all for your support of junior rugby league in the Milton Ulladulla area.
Keep up to date on all things Junior Doggies via Facebook and our website.

U7s match report
After a slightly unorganised start the Ex Servos U7s were all set for our home game against Nowra.
The boys had their first game on the main field.
Firstly a massive thank you goes to Michael coaching the boys whilst Jeff is away.
We appreciate you stepping in for the next couple of weeks. I am sure the boys will benefit from your experience.
All the boys played a great game with Finn, Ryan, Chaise, Alex and Joey all scoring tries, that brought us home with the win against a hard time.
The full time score was 56-28. Fantastic runs and great tackling skills shown but Bodie and Ross.
Luke, Chaise and Finn took home the man of the match awards, thanks to the Stewarts Catering and McDonalds.
