The finals matches were played on Monday, June 19, in perfect sunshine. In Division 1 Kerri Cassidy, Pam Germyn and Mel Doyle played Vicki Dunn, Pat Callahan and Kate Rejc. Kerri, Pam and Mel won 4 sets to 2, 31 games to 19.
In Division 2 Lara Bennett, Cindy McKenzie and Pauline Proctor played Beryl Wright, Jenny Rutherford and Melissa Charles. Lara, Cindy and Pauline were on fire and won all of their sets finishing with a 6 love result, but it was a closer match than appears with the games score 37 to 25.
The selectors chose Kate Rejc In division one and Beryl Wright in division two to be awarded prizes for being the best and fairest players in their group.
A delicious lunch was shared by all before the presentations were made of some wonderful kitchen homewares donated by our sponsor as prizes.
It was great that Julie Forster was able to join us to watch the tennis and stay for lunch.

Thursday Night Ladies Competition
The semi-finals were held on June 15 with both matches having a close finish.
First placed team Katrina, Jenny Rutherford and Jenny Richards for Julie played 4th placed team Jan, Sue P and Naomi. The match ended in a draw – 3 sets all and 24 games each. Katrina’s team were declared the winners on a countback.
In the other match 2nd placed team Pam, Jenny D and Cathy won 4 sets (28 games) against 3rd placed team Lee, Sonya and Jan W for Mary Lou 2 sets (22 games).
The grand final will be held on June 22 with Team Wooden against Team Germyn and the wooden spoon match will be between team Blondinau and team Simon.
Bakers Delight Saturday Morning Junior Competition
There were some very close matches last week.
The results for Sat June 17 are:
Div 1 - Rejc 25 def Geraghty 23, Mathews 25 def Clough 23. Div 2 - O’Sullivan 31 def Newton 11, E. Ogilvy 23 def Eastway 19, R. Ogilvy 21 drew Malligan 21.
The draws for June 24 are: Div 1 - Pearse vs Matthews, Clough vs Rejc, Bye team – Geraghty, Duty team - Rejc. Div 2 - E. Ogilvy vs O’Sullivan, Malligan vs Eastway, R. Ogilvy vs Newton, Duty team – Newton.
Starting on Saturday July 1 there will be an increase in fees for club-organised social tennis as well as court hire fees for non-members only. Members’ prices will remain the same.
Non-members playing Tuesday morning and Saturday afternoon organised tennis with balls provided must now pay $8 and for Wednesday night, with lights and balls the cost is $10.
Court hire for non-members will rise to $20 per court per hour and $25 if playing under lights.
Groups who hire the courts must ensure that at least 75% of their players are members of the club in order to pay court hire fees at the members rate of $10 and $15 per hour respectively.
There is no change to the special arrangements for junior members to encourage them to play/practice for free. Junior members may play for free with another junior member or one non-member adult providing paying players don’t need the court.
