Darcy stands out in a class of girls

08 Feb, 2012 12:24 PM
LITTLE Darcy Carless stands out from the rest of his class at St Mary’s Star of the Sea in Milton – he’s the only boy in a class of girls.

Five-year-old Darcy started Kindergarten at St Mary’s last Tuesday and found himself surrounded by girls.

Parents Stuart and Margun Carless of Narrawallee say it hasn’t worried the youngster.

They say he loves school and was all smiles last week after receiving a birthday invitation from one of his new classmates.

He has also found some older boys to play with at recess and lunch.

While there is just one Kindergarten class at St Mary’s and Shoalhaven Anglican School this year, numbers at Ulladulla Public School and Milton Public School have swelled, warranting five Kindergarten classes at each.
