AFTER a five-year hiatus, the Blessing of the Fleet street parade will return this Sunday with dozens of floats to cruise the main streets of Ulladulla.
Starting at 11am on Sunday, the parade will be a highlight of the day long festival, which includes entertainment and activities for the whole family and will be led by Blessing of the Fleet princess Georgia Sadler.
The day will kick off at 7.30am at Ulladulla Harbour with a breakfast sponsored by Milton IGA before spectators can watch the fleet of yachts visiting from Pittswater Yacht Club and Batemans Bay Yacht Club sail out of the harbour and along the coast.
The yachts will cruise the coastline before returning to the harbour before the start of the parade at 11am.
The parade will feature more than 30 floats along with marching bands, emergency service vehicles, performers and representatives from the Ulladulla Italian fishing community.
The parade will travel along the Princes Highway before turning into Deering Street and down Burrill Street.
The floats will then be parked at the Ulladulla Harbour and in Wason Street for spectators to view.
Following the parade, the Blessing of the Fleet Ceremony will see Father Francis Tran conduct a service of blessing for the boats in the harbour and the Ulladulla fishing fleet from 1pm.
Father Tran will bless each boat during the traditional event, with Blessing of the Fleet entrants and their partners taking part in the ceremony.
The rest of the day will be filled with games and activities on the Civic Centre lawns along with a huge range of live music acts and performances.
Live performances from local musicians and dancers will take place throughout the day and will include Pigeon House Jazz band and local schools along with performances by TDFA, Happy Feet and Manyana dance troupes.
The activities include the Ulladulla Volunteer Games at 3pm with $1,500 in prize money up for grabs for non-profit community organisations.
Sporting groups, service clubs and social clubs are all welcome to enter a team of six to 10 participants to take part in the games and share in the prize money.
Registration for the games will be at 2pm at the main stage.
The Ulladulla Vintage Car Club will host a display at the Ulladulla Civic Centre car park with dozens of classic cars on show.
