THE Mollymook Surf Life Saving Club will receive $250,000 in State Government funding for building works.
The announcement was made on Monday by Member for South Coast Shelley Hancock.
The funding is being made available under the Surf Club Facility Grant program.
The primary aim of the program is to help surf clubs develop their facilities to help increase usage and member numbers.
Mrs Hancock said members of the Mollymook Surf Life Saving Club did an outstanding job patrolling local beaches.
She said the grant would help the club make improvements to their facility including a new roof, new kitchen, toilets and a new pergola.
Mrs Hancock said the Mollymook Surf Club was an integral part of the local community, providing an invaluable contribution to water safety in NSW.
“The dedicated volunteers of the surf lifesaving movement deserve our support and I hope the funding announced this week will be of long term benefit to the club and the community,” she said.
NSW Minister for Sport and Recreation, Graham Annesley, said more than 120 surf clubs along the NSW coastline patrolled more than 200 beaches during the surf season.
He said each and every one of them” was a credit to their community.
