A NEW executive committee will represent a stronger and more vocal business chamber.
The Southern Shoalhaven Business Chamber annual general meeting was held last Thursday night, with a new executive elected.
Greg Fellows will stay on as president while Vaughan Sansom has taken on the role of vice president.
The executive committee also includes Darren Sparks, David Gregory, James Coburn, Louise Lugg and Karen Bashford.
Mr Fellows said the chamber is growing stronger and the new representatives will play a more active role.
“More and more businesses and retailers are coming to us, so it shows we are being proactive.
“There’s a good cross section of the business community represented.
“The members are keen to focus on being a stronger and more representative voice for businesses in the Southern Shoalhaven,” he said.
The chamber will focus on improving its communication with Shoalhaven City Council and is also keen to push a shop local campaign.
Members have discussed the need for a business levy to create a promotional fund and are also working with council and the Community Forum on beautifying the Ulladulla CBD.
The chamber is also a sponsor of the up-coming Milton-Ulladulla Business Awards and encourage businesses to support and enter the awards.
Mr Fellows said new faces are always welcome and more members will make the chamber even stronger.
The successful Business After Hours networking evenings are set to continue every month and dinner meetings are also being planned.
