Shop offers sweet step back in time

11 Jan, 2012 11:55 AM
A NEW lolly shop in Milton has become only the second in New South Wales offering live confectionary-making demonstrations in full view of customers.

Dimple and Wellington’s at the Rainbow Pie Shop in Milton has been attracting a steady stream of customers since opening recently.

Bakery owner Darryl Patterson said the decision to offer old-style confectionary was more in keeping with the heritage building on the Princes Highway.

He is confident the lolly shop, with its demonstrations on the hour between 9am and 4pm, will provide the region with another tourist attraction and help attract day-trippers to Milton and Ulladulla.

Mr Patterson said the only other NSW offering live confectionary-making demonstrations was located in The Rocks, Sydney.

Other stores are located in Melbourne, Darwin and Perth.
