The Mollymook Golf Club and Veteran Golfers have hosted this event for more than 30 years.
Given the conditions, Legacy was delighted with the number of players who participated in the event.
Many finished the 18 holes in driving rain, but dried out in the club house when supporting raffles and witnessing the presentations.
Despite the conditions, the course was in magnificent condition and some great golf was played.
The event was conducted by the Mollymook Veteran Golfers and valuable support was provided by lady golfers.
It was fitting that the club president, Paul Connor, presented Laurie Hayes (veterans captain) and Harvey Wooten with the Legacy Shield for winning the 4 ball stableford event.
Laurie then took over presenting donated prizes to the runners up, who were Bill Samuel and Kevin McGinley (second), Max Woodward and John Jones (third) and David Hassall and Lindsay Christmas (third).
The Joe Saunders Memorial Trophy, for individual stableford, was won by Kevin Dunphy, and the major runners up were David Hassall, John Jones, Jamie Roberts, Ray Dixon and Harvey Wooton.
There was an extended ball rundown.
The most successful lady golfer was Jan Tanko.
The Charity Golf Day is a significant fund raiser for Legacy and the funds raised will be spent to assist the 230 Legacy Widows in our district.
The Hilltop event, when combined with a smaller but nevertheless important day at the Beachside Course a week earlier, raised almost $3000.
Legacy is very grateful for the outstanding support of the following businesses whose donations made these charity days such a success.
