Lewis keen to farewell favourite track with a couple of wins

ULLADULLA Formula Ford driver Daniel Lewis will farewell his favourite track this weekend.

Lewis, 28, will be racing at Oran Park in Sydney for the last time.

He told the Times yesterday that he had raced at the track four or four times before and that it was his personal favourite because of the undulations and the spectators.

"It's a bit disappointing and I think a lot of the other guys would be feeling the same thing," he said.

While the track will be hosting a couple of minor races before the end of the year it will soon make way for a major housing development.

Lewis will be competing in three races this weekend, which represents the final round of the NSW

motor racing championships.

He is currently in third position after experiencing some mechanical dramas but is confident of some good results this weekend and a strong finish to the season.

Top spot is out of reach but with a couple of wins he is in with a chance of taking out second position.

Lewis has already enjoyed considerable success with the Formula Fords, finishing fourth overall last year and being named 'Rookie of the Year'.

He is now keen on stepping up and racing V8 Supercars in the Fujitsu series.
