THE South Coast Branch of the Australian Stockhorse Association held its annual stock horse champions at Milton ON October 4.
The day started early with the futurities and maturities.
On the local scene the Egan family won the Champion Gelding with Nandeye Diplomat and also Reserve Champion Stallion with Bannerman Double B.
Melissa Shea had a spectacular return to the show ring with her new horse Noggurula Ribbons.
Melissa won the Reserve Champion Ridden ASH and placed in most other events.
In the junior ring Troy Rowlands won the Champion Hack Rider under 18 yrs on Nandeye Diplomat.
Troy also won the Juvenile Judging.
Blake Prior, Nathan Shea, Jacque Rowlands and Erin Stansfield also placed in the many junior classes.
The Open Challenge (overall winner of led, hack and working) which was a new feature this year won by Paul Rigby.
Melissa Shea took second place and Robyn Gamble placed third.
The Youth Challenge was won by Scott Everingham, with Brittany Jones in second place and Blake Prior taking third.
Kerry Walker of Tomerong won the Jack Wallace Memorial Walking Horse Race for the second year in a row, with Robyn Gamble from Moruya taking second place, Melissa Shea third and Brittany Jones fourth.
Paul Rigby, Sue Skiling, Cole Moxey, Shane Everingham and Leith Stockly also has had a very successful show winning many events.
