NOVEMBER is shaping up to be a very busy month at Mollymook Golf Club if the events of the morning of November 1 are any indication.
Playing in the third group out at 7.10am in the Sunday comp, Oskar Nemme from the Australian Golf Club was settling into his round when he reached the Par 3 5th hole.
Oskar took his 7 iron from his bag and proceeded to drill a shot straight at the pin, however feared the ball had shot over the back of the green.
Upon approaching the green Oskar snuck a look at the hole to discover he had scored an ace, just before 8am.
Not to be outdone, Mollymook member Peter Jackson, playing in the group behind Oskar stepped onto the par 3 17th tee at Mollymook and took dead aim with his 6 iron.
Peter's shot flew into the flag on the fly before running down the flagstick and disappearing into the hole!
Not only was the ace Peter's first, it also gave him 5 Stableford points on the hole.
While many players have 'gone to water' after an ace, Peter amazingly chipped his 4 shot into the hole on the par 5 18th, for another 4 Stableford points. Peter's 9 points in the last two holes turned his ho-hum Sunday round into a 41 point, division 2 winner.
Upon making it back to the clubhouse, both men beamed as they informed the small crowd that they had scored an ace, before lunch.
The 5th group in for the day were unable to report any highlights from their round.
