The Red Cross Big Cake Bake is a national event raising money to pay for the well-known charity's humanitarian works in Australia and overseas.
”Our Big Cake Bake is one of thousands of Big Cake Bake events being organised around Australia this October,” Milton Ulladulla & District branch secretary Gill Rolfe said.
The Milton Ulladulla Big Cake Bake is being held at Bunnings and starts at 9am on Friday, October 13.
“We would be very grateful if the whole community joined the fun and helped make a difference,” Ms Rolfe said.
The Australian Red Cross is known for helping people overcome hardship and disadvantage.
“Red Cross is always here whether it is during a crisis or giving someone the tools they need to build a better life,” Ms Rolfe said.
”Every dollar raised goes to support the work of Red Cross, helping people overcome crisis big and small. It is all for a good cause and a great way to enjoy some guilt-free treats.”
Ms Rolfe is hopeful the community will get behind the fundraiser. She also encouraged those with a flair for baking to host their own event.
Meanwhile the branch also holds a regular stall at the Harbour Markets on the second Sunday of each month.
“Come and check out the wonderful display of goods available to purchase from Red Cross,” Ms Rolfe said. “And thanks to all the talented volunteers who donate items for the branch to sell.”
The branch supplies over 200 trauma teddies to the area each month, which are given to children in times of stress.
“Donations of 8ply knitting wool or craft filling are always appreciated,” Ms Rolfe said.
