Statistics compiled by Flight Centre show the top five destinations for people living in the 2538 postcode in 2016 were the UK, Indonesia, Fiji, New Zealand and France.
Those living in 2539 preferred to travel to the United States, the UK, Indonesia, Thailand and New Zealand.
Retirees were the most common travellers in the region, while only five per cent of young families spent money on an overseas holiday.
Flight Centre Ulladulla team leader Janice O'Neil said holidays to cheap destinations, such as Thailand, were appealing to families.
“People are, at the moment, booking south-east Asia for our summer, when it is the dry season over there,” she said.
“We have had a few people coming in to book holidays there recently.”
According to the report, Flight Centre passengers travelled 10.3 billion kilometres in 2016 – the equivalent of 68 journeys to Mars and back.
The top five international destinations for Australian’s in 2016 were Indonesia, the UK, Fiji, Thailand and the United States.
Most people travelled with a companion, while 37 per cent travelled in a group and 21 per cent travelled solo. The report is based on Flight Centre’s customer database.
