And she is bringing her message to the region this week in conjunction with the visit by the 80-year-old Danish tall ship Yukon when it arrives in Ulladulla as part of a science and conservation expedition.
The ship’s research is focused on plastics, and Angela is running a free workshop at the Dunn Lewis Centre about how to turn plastic shopping bags into funky baskets.
The workshop on crocheting plastic into funky baskets is taking place on Thursday from 10.30am until 12 noon, with everyone welcome to join in.
Angela will also be one of several people speaking at the Dunn Lewis Centre from 6.30pm on Friday about environmental issues and plastic pollution.
“This is being done to educate people and raise awareness about plastic pollution and its danger for our environment, especially the wondrous marine life,” she said.
“I'm excited to be in Ulladulla to work with the local community, showing a bit more about my art, how I work with environmental groups, local councils and festivals, events and schools.
“I will be showing some beautiful things you can 'create with waste',” Angela said.
