Cock a doodle doo to you all out there this week.
I guess we had just endured another quite bland, vanilla like surf conditions where we really did not see any waves that were either epic or, on the other hand, terrible - we simply had just another one of those semi forgettable seven days of surf where you were happy if you got amongst it or didn't really miss anything if a surf was beyond your reach.
I guess for those footy lovers it was actually pretty awesome to have a flat spell run through on Sunday so we could all watch the Roosters trounce the Eagles without fear of missing any quality surf.
As I look into the future to see the upcoming forecast I am sadden to inform you very much the same is on its way.
Robbie Hargrave took to the water at Dolphin Point before the rooster crowed on Monday morning to find a pleasant little surprise wave rolling in.
As most surfers simply rolled over in bed and thought oh well there is no waves, Robbie took it straight on and surfed for a solid hour on his lonesome.
He scooped a few epic little ones in front of an ecstatic crowd who were watching on and suddenly Robbie found himself surrounded like a hole in a doughnut.
This didn't bother Robbie though, as he had already had his fill.
Saturday morning was possibly the best day of the week and if you kept your ear to the ground there was some fun waves to be had.
Keith Harvey jumped into the water at Flatrock and too his surprised locked into a tube longer than a gorillas arm and paddled straight out the back and immediately stroked into another to get the new nick name "double barrel Holley".
Mick Fanning has won the Quiksilver Pro France in an action packed final over Gabriel Medina in 3-4Ft waves at the back up venue of Le Penon in Seignosse.
Stop eight of 10 on the ASP World Championship Tour, the Quiksilver Pro France juggled with a difficult forecast to showcase the World’s Best surfers in quality waves over the two iconic spots of La Graviere and Le Penon.
Mick Fanning clinched a historic fourth win at the Quiksilver Pro France making him the most decorated surfer of the event’s 12-year history.
This result marks the first event win for Fanning this season and cements him in the pole position on the rankings.
“I’m pretty emotional, I never really got into rhythm final day so it feels great,” an ecstatic Fanning stated.
“It just feels so good, Gabi is such an incredible kid, even with 20 seconds to go I was still under pressure, it just feels so good.”
Yeww go Fanning
