The competition was held over the two days and had many judokas competing, all wanting their place on the Australia Oceania Team.
Blake had to fight against other contestants from Western Australia, Queensland and New South Wales in his Under 60kg division.
He showed great techniques and great determination.
After losing his third fight it meant that he needed to win every fight to work his way up the ladder for third place and the bronze medal and that is exactly what he did.
Luke came up against opponents from Queensland, New South Wales and Darwin.
Luke's judo has continued to impress everyone who watches him.
He is showing great control over his competitors and this was another example where he managed to control his competitors with experience, techniques and great judo combinations.
Luke won all his fights and came away with the Gold medal and the title of Queensland International Champion.
Riley has grown more confident over these past few months and his confidence is showing in his judo as he has been winning and taking out many titles such as NSW State Champion, ACT International Champion and after coming first at Queensland he now holds the Queensland International Champion.
The Queensland International open was also a selection tournament for the Australian Oceania Team.
Blake has secured a placement on this team and will travel to Cairns in April with the National Talent Identification Development team (NTID) where he will train at an elite camp under the guidance of Dennis Iverson.
This is a massive achievement for Blake as this is the highest competition that he can achieve at his age in judo.
