However the trip being undertaken by former Ulladulla school mates Luke Paton and Linden Heycox and their Kalgoorlie work colleague Glen Collins just got a bit longer due to flooding caused by Cyclone Ita.
The group was expecting to cover 4500km while riding from Kalgoorlie in Western Australia to Cairns in north Queensland, but when leaving Alice Springs this week the riders had to change their plans and are continuing to Cairns via Darwin.
This will add about 2000km to the journey.
However they said the changed plans would give them an opportunity to raise more money.
Also providing money for the renal unit was an Easter egg hunt at Lions Park in Burrill Lake on Sunday, which attracted a large number of children.
They all left with arms full of chocolate, but four-year-old Jasper Slade-Whyte of Burrill Lake also left with a huge bunny after winning the guessing competition.
Children were asked to guess how many Easter eggs were in a jar, and Jasper initially guessed four.
When he was told there were a few more than that, he revised his guess to 154, which proved to be the correct answer.
Anyone wanting to donate to the renal unit can do so through the Charity Motor Bike Ride account set up with the NAB, account number 398 577 650.
