The National Parks and Wildlife Service is planning to undertake the burn between April and June, depending on suitable fuel moisture and weather conditions.
The Budawang area of Morton National Park will be closed to multi-day bushwalking and other activities during and following the burn to ensure visitor safety.
Every effort will be made to avoid burning during the Easter school holiday period, however opportunities to burn might be limited this season.
Day walks to Pigeon House Mountain Didthul and The Castle Cooyoyo will not be affected.
Visitors planning a trip to the Budawang area of Morton National Park are advised to check the NPWS website www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au for updates on the timing of the burn.
