The day club provides members with an opportunity to participate in a range of activities such as gentle exercise, quizzes, games, entertainment, guest speakers and special events.
Morning tea and light lunch are provided and transport can be arranged to and from the club.
There is a nominal fee for the day.
The club recently held their first outdoor meeting at Lions Park, Burrill Lake, combined with a sausage sizzle.
The usual club activities of games, quizzes and trivia and light exercise, was followed by lunch.
A walk around the park was appreciated by those who could join in and great friendship was enjoyed by all.
The day club meeting on Tuesday, April 8, was most successful, with 23 members being present.
The highlight of the day was a brilliant talk on fire safety in the home by a local fire and rescue representative, Annette Chapman.
Her talk was very well received by the members and was given in such a way that it held the attention of all.
Thank you to Annette.
Other activities on the day were a photographic quiz, gentle physical exercises, games, card making and more – all were most enjoyable.
The day club is sponsored by the RSL and is a weekly social program for older people from both the ex-service and the wider community.
The club meets at the Ulladulla ExServos annex, on Tuesdays, and new members are most welcome.
