The Group Rose Bowl Trophy returned to Milton District CWA at the Annual Group Judging.
This makes the fifth year that the local ladies have brought home the trophy.
Thanks to Lorraine Robertson and Noeleen Bartlett who led the charge with their fine work.
Congratulations to Margaret Ryan who came first in the Land knitting and was selected for state judging, as well as Lorraine’s professionally quilted quilt which also went in first place to State for judging.
Many, many thanks to Alison Willis who is so superb with her quilting that she leaves the judges breathless.
Three of Lorraine’s embroidery samples also went on to CWA State Competition.
The next branch meeting is on Wednesday, April 16, at the Milton Hall.
However, the May meeting is now scheduled for May 28, as the previous date conflicts with the State Conference.
The group gathers together at 10am for chats and morning tea and work on their projects.
Anyone who comes will find themselves fussed over and very welcome.
The meeting starts at 1pm.
At the March meeting, held during Seniors Week, the group was delighted to welcome Ann Pomfret who came to check out the association.
During the previous month a staunch group of volunteers organised the Bunnings sausage sizzle.
It’s always a delightful time to speak to all comers, even if they don’t indulge.
The ladies would like to thank Bunnings for sponsoring local charities and also thank their most pleasant staff who are always most cheerful and helpful.
During the meeting program, Bev Smith gave an informative talk on the wedge-tailed eagle which is one of the targeted subjects for research in 2014, and Margaret Ryan showed fascinating films of Botswana, the country of study.
These interest points focus the learning for the year.
Thank you to both ladies.
