Peter will compete alongside more than 180 athletes in the event that runs from October 20 to 25.
The Bake, Bottle and Buy Fundraiser has seen community members baking cakes and bottling jams and chutneys for weeks in order to send “their Pete” to Melbourne.
Bawley Point Kioloa Sport and Recreation’s Bake, Bottle or Buy event coordinator Tracey Hatch said Bawley love to support Peter.
“We love Pete and Bawley just loves to get behind him,” Ms Hatch said.
“As a community we have really pitched together to get this event going.
“ Everyone is baking or bottling jams and chutneys.
“That’s why we have called it Bake,Bottle or Buy because you can either help out and donate something to sell by baking or bottling something delicious or you can come along on the day and buy some amazing homemade treats.
“Hopefully we can raise enough money to send Pete and his family to Melbourne for the National Games this October, so he can do us proud.”
Peter returned from the Asia Pacific Regional Special Olympics in December a silver and bronze medalist.
During October he will compete in athletics, shot put and javelin, and will need more than $3,000 to make the trip.
