The club will hold a fund-raiser poker night at the Nowra Showground pavilion and the room is expected to be full with people trying their luck in the game.
The cost is $10 for buy-ins and all buy-ins will stay in the prize pool.
There will be $10 rebuys for the first hour and $10 add-ons at the break, with all of these funds donated back to the club.
Players committee member Steve Bikneris is organising the night and is hoping to draw a big crowd.
“I used to run poker tournaments up in Wollongong and down the coast so I thought it would be a bit of a drawcard to bring out the players who don’t play anymore,” he said.
“The club is donating a $500 prize pool, which will cover the first 50 players, but the more who come the more money we can raise for the club.”
Funds will go towards the club’s ongoing costs, equipment and player costs.
The doors will open from 5pm and the tournament will start at 6pm.
“It’s the first poker night for the club, with the hope to make it an annual thing. It just depends on how we go,” Bikneris said.
The night is open to anyone and there is no need to book a table.
The venue is fully licensed so beverages and hot food will be for sale during the night.
