The Ulladulla Docker under 10s had an intra-club game on Saturday and we enjoyed a great morning with the sun shining down on us.
We split into two groups of red and blue and the parents and grandparents were there to give their support.
We had a tightly contested game, the Blues got a few early goal, Ben had a great run from full back to slot a goal.
The Blues backline of Ben and Sebastian, the centres Fletcher and Chelsea and the forwards Bowdie and Jacob worked well together to give the Blues a handy lead at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter the Reds came out with some great tackling from Jacob and Lilly, David showed some great skill with 2 goals, while Jiahs’ kicking skills were giving his forwards, Crosbie and Jack, every opportunity to even the game up.
At half time the Blues lost Ben who went to play for the Under 12s and they missed his trade mark run from fullback, however Connor and Jack really started to lift providing their team with some great tackling and kicking.
Lilly’s determination to win the ball in contests was great to watch and Chelsea made many runs with the ball.
Raedon and Bowdie were everywhere, running, handballing and helping their team mates out whenever the ball came near them.
With the game pretty even heading into the last quarter Crosbie slotted a goal through with the help of Connor and Jiah, Fletcher was doing a great job getting involved in every contest and Jacob was playing a great game around the centre.
David and Sebastian had a great battle contesting the ruck and Jack worked hard for his team, Bowdie and Raedon battled hard against each other to win the ball for their team and Chelsea, Lilly and Jiah were stand outs.
In the end we couldn’t split the teams they all played a great game and were all very determined to show those watching their skills. Well done.
Southern Man Under 12s
Beautiful sunshine greeted everyone at West Ulladulla Oval for the Southern Man Under 12 Dockers match against Bay and Basin Bombers.
The Dockers were switched on from the first bounce with Gleeso, Caleb and Ben Shephard playing superbly in the middle giving the forwards first use of the ball.
Harry chipped in with a goal at full-forward and Archie was at his crumbing best snapping a couple in the first quarter.
The half back line played superbly all day with Reef and Simmo sharing the centre half back role with Jono getting plenty of touches all around the ground staying one kick behind the play.
At fullback, Joe Shephard was outstanding as always and the mosquito fleet of Earl, Benny Clough and Harrison put their head over the ball all day.
Rosie, Christabella and Dylan ran hard all game and in the second quarter, Ellis scored his first goal of the season.
Top stuff!
Hughy played like a man possessed when moved into the forward line and Brodie was a constant presence in that area.
Angus swung well between jobs in the backline and the forward line and Gus and Ralph put in their usual tireless display.
It was a strong performance up until ¾ time and the Dockers had the game in the bag.
A great performance leading into the finals in a couple of weeks.
Well done boys and girls. Many thanks to Brett for doing the goals and Brian for running water and messages.
Look forward to seeing you all at training on Thursday.
Mollymook Golf Club Under 14s
On July 27 the Under 14s Dockers played an important game against the notorious Bay and Basin Bombers.
It was a tough game and despite the Dockers stoic performance they lost against one of the top teams in the game.
Within the first half of the game the ball slipped through the Dockers grasp and the Bombers sustained a strong and lengthy lead.
The defensive line was trying their hardest to recover the ball, though despite their performance the Bombers continued to power through the Dockers and scored more points.
The second half of the game showed a valiant performance by the Dockers as they didn't give up despite the opposition’s lengthy lead.
The Dockers were successful in repelling the ball and the forward line were scoring goals.
The Dockers had a fantastic last quarter and the Bombers scored few points.
Despite the valiant effort the Dockers had a loss and hopefully they will step up next game and seize a win.
Good luck next week and remember
Ulladulla Hotondo Homes Under 16s
On July 27 the Dockers versed the infamous Bay and Basin Bombers.
The game was a tough struggle as both teams were prepared for a win.
The first half of the game demonstrated perfect skill at delivering the ball towards the forward line out of the centre.
The defensive line was outstanding at repelling the ball and the forward line was textbook at finding space and the ball.
By the start of the second half the Dockers had an incredible lead and were ready to pin many more goals on the board.
The defence, centre and forward line were unmatched at their game of football and constantly worked as a team to score more goals.
At the end of the game the Dockers walked off the field with raised spirits after their insane win.
The final score was 125 to 9 Dockers way.

Docker down Dogs
The senior Ulladulla Dockers took the road to the Gong last Sunday to play their catch up game against the University Bulldogs.
Currently the inform team of the competition, the Dockers have successfully beaten all teams within the AFL South Coast.
University Bulldogs had only lost one games so far this year and that was to the Dockers.
Going into the weekends game the Dockers had lost four from their five younger speed players, which left a few of the older boys to pick up the mantle.
The game was hard from the start with the Dockers planting the first couple of goals on the board, later that quarter the Dogs laid on to easy goals from free kicks to bring the game back within a kick.
Second quarter the Dockers were flat footed, playing behind football which allowed the Dogs to see a lot more attack.
Lucky for the Dockers back they were able to withstand the onslaught and go into the break 2 points ahead.
Deep breaths taken and the Dockers quickly regained composure around the ground, relentless pressure through the third term was the key to again giving the Dockers the lead by 4 points at the last break.
It was everything or nothing for the Ulladulla boys, knowing that they had to lift more than had been called for in any other game in the season.
Major injury to Daniel Peat half way through this term saw the Dockers in turmoil, smart thinking by the team when Gatty went back to full back to secure their dominant forward.
Again relentless ruthless aggression was the key for the Dockers and gave them the drive home in the last 4 minutes of the game, scoring a goal from of the ground scrimmage.
Dockers 11 points up 2 minutes to go!
Two minutes to chew up on the clock the ball driven down filed when father time himself Pete Ryan marked on the 30 metre mark in front of goal, knowing he would not make the distance.
Experience stepped in and as he spun the ball in his hands time and time again, the seconds worked down.
Kick to the goal square and game over.
Docker by 11 points in what was a true test of character and resilience for the club.
