MILTON Public School has proved it has some of the best tennis players in the state after they were named runners-up at the Victor J. Kelly State Tennis Knockout.

Anton Willet, Rohan Smith, Chilee Roland and Jordan Brown travelled to Homebush, Olympic Park on Monday, August 4 to play in the semi-finals and finals against Griffith, Grafton and Artarmon.
Milton came up against Grafton, last year's winners in the semi-final.
The team started well and won three of the four singles matches, giving Milton a 3-1 lead.
Anton and Rohan were strong in the doubles winning 6-1.
In the mixed doubles Anton and Jordan won 6-2 and Rohan and Chilee smashing their way to a 6-0 set win.
After the eight sets, Milton proved they were the team to beat, going into the final with a 6-2 win.
In the final, Milton came up against last year's runners-up Artarmon, which looked extremely strong after a 7-1 semi-final win.
The final was a thrilling and nail-biting exhibition of tennis from both teams.
After the singles matches Anton and Jordan had managed good wins and the score was two sets all.
Chilee and Jordan won their doubles match 7-6 but the boys lost a close game.
The score was now three sets apiece with Artarmon leading 29-27.
It was down to the mixed doubles matches.
Chilee and Rohan really played some classy tennis to win their match 6-1, however Anton and Jordan had a loss.
At the end of play Milton and Artarmon were on four sets all but Milton lost by just one game with Artarmon taking the win 35-34.
Ms Blondinau congratulated the team for its determination and effort.
“I am most impressed by the brilliant sportsmanship and skill they displayed throughout the year,” she said.
“I would also like to thank the wonderful parents and grandparents of the children for taking the time to drive to all the matches throughout the season and for their organisation of trip.
“I look forward to next year's competition.”
