Club president Rodney Austin was re-elected for the 14th year and said the club and every member should be proud of their efforts in the past 12 months.
The club’s safety record of safe swimming between the flags continued its 100 per cent safety record for 79 years.
The club was voted Best Surf Club on the South Coast at the recent South Coast Branch Awards with Adam Woodward also voted lifesaver of the year and Di Austin awarded Administrator of the Year..
Others noted at the AGM were senior vice president John Patterson for organising the successful NSW Country Championships, Barry Page for the annual Surf Boat Classic, head of the Building Committee for the new Function Room Geoff Starkey, and Anthony Austin for his efforts and commendation in training and education.
The executive thanked major sponsors Mollymook Golf Club, Milton Ulladulla Exservos, Shoalhaven City Council, Holiday Haven Tourist Parks and Serendade Consulting along with patrons and mentors Jon Donohue AM, Peter Stapleton AM and Pat McGrath.
A sad note was the retirement of Jim Bryant as director of finance.
Jim and his wife Jan first became involved as sand gropper parents in the1980’s and was treasurer for the past 14 years.
Jim’s replacement is Kevin Whitford, also newly accepted life member of the club and junior activities coordinator.
Rodney said the club looks forward to a great 2014/15 season and celebration of the club’s 80th birthday.
