Cliff is new to the local Rotary club, but no stranger to Rotary.
He has been a Rotarian for 17 years and was twice president of the Rotary Club of Boorowa.
Cliff, with the help of his partner Sonia, gave a presentation on his experiences with the Rotary Friendship Exchange in India.
The program enables Rotarians from all over the world to meet and to share cultures.
Cliff and Sonia went to Central India, just below the Tropic of Cancer and arrived at the town of Indore for the Rotary District 3040 Conference.
Cliff spoke of the differences between our culture and India's, for example the district governor arrived at the conference in a horse drawn carriage.
Women wore traditional dress while the men dressed in western attire. Cliff spoke of the narrow streets, mini taxis, extremely busy power poles, cattle wandering the streets, elephant transport and women dancing with large stacks of bowls on their head.
Cliff and Sonia enjoyed many sights, including the Taj Mahal, the Narmada
River, Daly College, Lake Pichola and the city of Udaipur.
Cliff and Sonia were hosted by a Rotarian family and were shown much kindness.
There are 68 Rotary clubs in central India.
The Rotary Friendship Exchange is Rotary's exchange program for Rotarians and their spouses.
Friendship exchanges allow Rotarians the opportunity to experience another culture first hand in the homes of Rotarians in another country. The exchanges are reciprocal and usually last about two weeks.
The goal of the program is to advance international understanding, goodwill and peace through person-to-person contact across national boundaries.
Taking part in an exchange is a wonderful way to make new friends and establish international service partnerships.
