The members welcomed Director of Nursing and Midwifery Services Manager Helen Manoharan.
Helen gave an interesting talk on her career and said she was looking forward to working with auxiliary and staff for a long time to attend to the ideas she has for the hospital.
There will be a committee formed with the Cancer Outpatients Appeal and the hospital auxiliary to work towards the new renal and palliative care units.
This committee will have input into the spending of community donations.
Auxiliary members are looking forward to working with the Ulladulla and Districts Garden Club at the Gardens Festival and Expo to be held at Ulladulla Civic Centre and several privately owned open gardens on October 4 and 5.
The auxiliary will also be selling homemade crafts, cooking and plants, all donated by members.
Tickets in a giant raffle with 10 prizes will be available from members at the open gardens and the expo.
The raffle will be drawn on Wednesday, October 8 at the Times office.
All proceeds for this fantastic weekend will go towards the Renal Unit at Milton Ulladulla Hospital.
For all festival enquiries please call Val Tranter on 4455 5050.
St Martin’s Church is holding a treasure sale on October 11 and auxiliary members will be selling the Rotary Charity Calendar.
They are $20 each with a chance to win a prize every month throughout 2015 including $1000 in two months.
The calendars will make excellent Christmas gifts for friends and family as they show off the beautiful Shoalhaven.
The auxiliary thanks the Milton Dance Association for their donation to the cancer outpatients in honour of Don Rennock, a much loved member of the dancers.
They also made a donation to the Renal Unit.
Donations for the Renal Unit were also received from U3A Singing for pleasure, proceeds raised at their end of term concert and the Burrill Lake Community Group.
The next meeting will be on October 8 at the day care centre at 2pm.
New members are always welcome to come along and enjoy fellowship with the community while making money to supply equipment not supplied by the health department.
Till next time, Trudy Bidewell (publicity officer).
