The under 10s had a loss against the always powerful North Nowra-Cambewarra.
The 10’s went down 8/92 to Norths’ 7/106 in a close tussle that shows they are competitive.
Blake Halls hit seven runs with Marcella Mansour (6) backing him up. Harry Cornock and Ben Clough also scored five.
While Jai Halls’ 2/7 and Blake Halls’ 1/9 meant the 10s were in the game until the end.
In the under 12s the Blues kept Bomaderry at 7/131 but were bowled out for 100 to fall just short.
The Golds scored 101 in the game against Batemans Bay last week and they did a great job to go down in a close one. Bay finished on 8/126 with Ulladulla’s Jake Town (2/8) and Kyle Geerlings (1/11) with Sam England (1/13) providing plenty of support.
In the 14s Ulladulla had put together a nice 7/128 against North Nowra Cambewarra Blues, and they managed to take the win by keeping the Norths to 7/120 due to some great bowling from the whole side.
In particular Rocky Lavalle (2/12), Ryan Geerlings (1/4) and Brad Peek (1/5) kept it tight.
Great catching kept them in control from Alex Baccarini, Ryan Geerlings and Angus Rutherford.
The 16s at Batemans Bay who had racked up 8/243 bowled way too well for the Bay boys to have a go at their score.
Max Eggins (3/27) and the always accurate Ben McCormack (2/12) bowled well, with Kyle Jarrett (1/12) and Travis Wooden, a great 1/13 off seven overs, backed them up.
The Bay were 132 all out at the end.
THE Gilkes Electrical Under 10s played their second game of the season on Saturday at Burrill Lake against North Nowra.
All 12 players were on display and Blake Halls and Daniel Mansour scored 19 to get their team on the way.
Bryce Smith and Ryan Gilkes then put on 12 runs to keep them going forward. Rhys Robertson and Jai Halls really did a great job to put on seven after running into some nice bowling.
Ben Clough and Marcella Mansour put together a lovely 16-run partnership to keep the team going forward, and then the always keen Isaac King and Harrington Cornock put on 11 runs against some really tough fielding. Finally Aliza Cornock and Ben finished with 11 runs to get Ulladulla to 8/92, a competitive score.
Ulladulla’s bowling was keen and the fielding backed this up with a nice run out to Rhys and also to Blake and Bryce.
Blake then took a great catch to really assert Ulladulla in the field.
Aliza (0/12) was accurate this week and has learned a lot already.
Blake (1/9) topped off a great day and inspired Harry (0/12) to match his sister.
Bryce and Isaac (0/11) both kept it on the pitch, and Rhys (0/8) did a great job at bowling to the keeper. Ryan did a great job behind the stumps and Bryce backed him up with the gloves later to show he has a natural gift for the job.
Ryan (0/8) and Ben (0/6) dotted up the batters, but the big players today were Mia (1/8) and Jai (2/7), who were very dominant with the ball.
They caused a lot of pressure and they were rewarded.
North Nowra finished with 7/106 and the only real difference between the sides was the 13 extra sundries Ulladulla bowled.
A great first game at home and so many improving players.
It was a great team effort and the running between the wickets was great.
Aliza Cornock picked up the Bakers Delight award and will be chowing into one of their delicious rolls, after Ben Clough had taken it out the week before and yet still seemed to run around with great pace after the reward.
Well done and good luck in two week’s time after the bye.
THE Ulladulla under 14's travelled to Bernie Regan for the usual epic encounter with North Nowra.
After batting first last week, Ulladulla finished their 50 overs on 7/128.
Dale Ramsden top scored with 28 not out, well supported by Brad Peak (18 n.o), Nathan Simmons (12), Bailey Tooth (11) and Ryan Geerlings (10 n.o). Defending this week, Ulladulla fielded magnificently and bowled with great control to restrict North Nowra to 7/120.
Alex Baccarini took a great catch off some excellent bowling from Brad, followed up by outstanding work from all the bowlers who sent down maiden after maiden.
Tim Mansour (0/4), Angus Rutherford (0/12), Reuben Hatwell (1/10), Dale R. (1/11) and Ryan G. (1/4) were particularly impressive.
Matt W., Max B., Matt V., Bailey T. and Alex E. all bowled and fielded like their lives depended on it, making the batsmen work for every run. With Norths needing 10 off the last over to win, coach Tony and the crowd were chewing their fingernails off.
But with nerves of steel, Rocky Lavalle (2/12) finished off the innings with a wicket and a run out to make sure of the result.
A great start to the season
