Initially runners headed west to the end of Leo Drive and into the bushland, along the new walking track.
This takes you further along the inlet to a tranquil water access.
From here they headed south through the bush, up a steady, but constant incline, emerging near the Telstra tower on Matron Porter Drive.
Then it was a lovely, gentle downhill, all the way to South Molly, where a couple of keen RATS did an extra out and back to Collers Beach.
After a drink break, runners started the return journey, heading north up Mitchell Parade, Beach Road and the dreaded stairs.
Downhill again to Narrawallee Beach and back along the flat to the inlet.
Most ran about 12 kilometres, with a few clocking up closer to 15 or 16 kilometres.
Coffee after at Tallwood was enjoyed.
Next Sunday, October 26, for those not going to the Moruya Fun Run, please meet at the default location, Macca's, at 6.30am.
RATS in action:
Do not let an opportunity go by to get your name in the Times - get your results to Martin Tomasini at your earliest opportunity.
Last week:
Jake Myors competed in the State Combined High Schools Athletics Championships at Homebush.
Jake contested the 1500 and 5000 metre track events. He came sixth in 17.21 minutes in the 5000 metres, but suffered in the 34 degree heat and got some nasty blisters on his feet. However, he backed up brilliantly the next day, taking the bronze medal in the 1500 metres in a solid time of 4.21.
This run qualified him for nationals in March next year, which is a fine achievement.
This week:
Gay and Richard Shearman ventured to Merimbula and took part in the local five kilometre park run. Gay reported that the course was fast, flat and scenic. Gay finished in a great time of 24.07, with Richard clocking up 26.07, a great time for an occasional runner.
