An MRH90 helicopter was flown from the HMAS Albatross naval base from the school to help strengthen the navy’s connections with the Shoalhaven community.
On board the chopper was aircraft maintenance engineer and Ulladulla Public School parent, Warrant Officer David Carriage from the 808 Squadron.
The helicopter’s arrival forced the school to temporarily abandon its rule about children having to wear their hats while outside, as students were told to sit on their hats to ensure they were not blown away as the chopper and its crew arrived shortly after 10am.
It also drew plenty of interest, with a group from Ulladulla High School and even some pre-schoolers arriving to have a look over the sophisticated machinery.
