The under 10s had a loss this week to a strong Berry side, going down 12/119 to 8/164 at Berry.
Top scorers were Ryan Gilkes with 21 and Marcella Mansour with 10. Catches to Marcella and Ryan and runouts to Isaac King, and Jye Halls meant the wickets stacked up.
Mia Clough (0/7), Marcella (2/20) and Ryan (2/8) had the best of the figures with the ball.
In the under 12s the Blues had a great day cleaning up North Nowra Blues for 48.
Wickets were shared well with Cooper Jones, Ruby Kenny, Lachlan Barr and Jayden Granger, all taking one wicket, while Dal hall and Casey Dorrell took two wickets each.
Catches went to Casey Dorrell, Dal, Isaiah Lewis, and Sam Stewart and Drew Ramsden took two wickets.
Ulladulla are at 5/30 in reply, and will have to do some work in what is a bowler-friendly game.
The under 12 Golds bowled Bomaderry out for 112.
Wickets went to Riley Jarrett (2), Gus Boland, and Kyle Geerlings.
But it was the Jake Town show with five wickets - an amazing effort. Catches to Caleb Kersting, Jake Town and Sam England, as well as a runout to Riley Jarrett.
The 14s went down to Bay and Basin in a one day game.
Basin made 3/131 with wickets to Angus Rutherford, Nathan Simmons and Matt Wheeler.
A catch to Dale Ramsden and a sharp stumping by Rocky Lavalle.
In return Ulladulla scored 116 with Rocky Lavalle (36 retired) and Tim Mansour (13 n.o) the top scorers.
The Ulladulla under 16s are in full control and bowled out Bay and Basin for 37.
Matt Gilkes (4/8), Ben McCormack (2/7) and Jared Smith (1/8) were the destroyers.
Matt Gilkes also retired with 100 on the bat and was well supported by Ethan Ford (28).
Ulladulla are at 3/163 in reply.
THE Gilkes Electrical under 10s played at Berry on Saturday.
Berry are on top of the table and were always going to be tough.
Ulladulla batted first with Jye Halls and Dan Mansour getting us going with a 14-run stand.
Bryce Smith and Rhys Robertson put together 16 runs which meant we had a good base to score a decent total.
Isaac King and Marcella Mansour really showed us how to get running between wickets and they had a lovely partnership of 22 runs which included a powerful four from Marcella.
Ryan Gilkes and Mia Clough put on a 23-run stand with Mia punching singles around at will in the last overs, and looked like she had learned so much.
Ryan was powerful with one six and two fours.
This brought our final and consistent batters out in Blake Halls and Ben Clough.
They did not disappoint with a 26-run stand that was the best of the day and drove us to 95 against what was probably the best bowling side we have faced.
Ben (0/17) got us started and kept it on target, with Jye (0/13) and Marcella (2/20) building pressure and causing wickets.
The fielding was good as well with catches to Marcella off her own bowling and Jye and Isaac running out some batters.
Rhys (0/16) is improving fast and can let a quick delivery go.
Dan (0/13) and Blake (0/20) bowled well, and it must be said that Berry have some boys who really hit the ball, so some great balls were being put away even though they did not deserve it.
Isaac (0/19) whose accuracy is a bit of a joke for his age, continues to smile and impress, and Bryce has those lovely flighted balls and returned 0/18 in a great day for him.
Mia bowled 0/7 off three overs.
Amazing accuracy was the pick of our bowlers today, and the pressure Mia created allowed Ryan Gilkes (2/8) to take a catch off his own bowling and finished a great day for him.
Bakers Delight player of the game was Ryan Gilkes.
It was a warm day at Frogs Hollow for the much-anticipated clash between the Blues and the North Nowra Maroons.
Batting first, Norths were in early trouble thanks to Cooper Jones, who took a wicket in his first over with some accurate, fast bowling.
This set the trend for things to come as wickets fell at regular intervals throughout the morning.
Thom and Zara followed up Cooper with tight balls that kept the pressure on.
Drew twisted the knife with figures of 1/1 off three overs, along with Jayden (1/0) who bowled superbly and Jay (0/1).
The fielding was as sharp as the bowling with Sam and Isaiah taking great catches, Drew and Casey missing nothing behind the stumps and everyone watching the ball all the time.
Dal (2/12) and Ruby (1/9) bowled with good control before Casey (2/2) and Lachie “the wizard” (1/1) cleaned up the batters.
Norths were all out for 49. However, as the old saying goes, it's never over until the large lady sings and before too long Jay and Lachie were out and Ulladulla needed someone to settle things down and stay out there.
Casey, Dal and Ruby did the job and although we lost some late wickets, the Blues are still well placed to claim victory next week.
Player of the day- Casey.
THE Golds played Bomoderry/Ex Servos on day one at Milton Showground.
Alex Baccarini won the toss and invited Bomo to bat.
Alex (0/18) and Riley(2/8 with two maidens) were the first to take up the attack, and after an early wicket, Bomo dug in and we couldn't claim another wicket until the 24th over.
At this stage Bomo had 69 on the board and were well on top.
Enter Jake Town (5/10), who changed the course of Bomo's innings.
He was well backed up by Gus Boland(1/4 with two maidens) and Kyle Geerlings (1/7), who both captured late wickets and helped restrict Bomo to 112 all out.
The bowlers were well supported in the field with catches snared by Caleb Kersting at keeper, Sam England and Jake.
Also a big thank you to Bomo for lending us a fielder, and they all tried their best.
A special mention to Darcy Hopkins, who took a catch for us - fantastic sportsmanship.
Riley also completed a neat run out, assisted by Alex.
Other bowling figures on the day were Eli King (0/11), Sam (0/10), AJ (0/10) and Caleb (0/6 with two maidens).
Our bowling of wides and no balls is slowly decreasing which is pleasing, and with incentive from the coach of ice cream all round if we can bowl 25 or under in 50, the boys are all trying their best.
A score of 112 is attainable, but the outfield is slow and the boys must be patient, dig in and run well between wickets.
The Bakers Delight winner is Sam England for his improved bowling and for taking a screamer at square leg to end Bomo's innings.
Times cup points: Jake Town 3, Gus Boland 1, Kyle Geerlings 1, Riley Jarrett 1.
A TOUGH day at the office for the Under 14s as they faced the mighty Bay and Basin team.
Batting first, Bay looked in control as they defended their wickets well and pushed the ball around to keep the scoreboard moving.
Ulladulla never gave up, and some highlights in the field included Angus “Express Train” Rutherford (1/4) who gave nothing away and cleaned up one of the openers with a bullet to the stumps.
Matt “The Magician” Wheeler (1/15) seems to be working out the art of good slow bowling and bagged a good stumping thanks to some sharp work from Rocky.
Nathan “Speed Gun” Simmons (1/9) picked up the only other wicket to fall, a nice catch to Dale who is “Mr Reliable” in the field.
Some good tight bowling from Zac, Bailey and Max also helped keep the target to within reach.
In reply, Ulladulla were on the back foot from the start with Ryan going early and Alex being unluckily run out.
Dale dragged one onto his stumps and Bailey “The Blaster” was well caught by John.
Although wickets were falling, Rocky “The Wall” Lavalle (36 retired), Magic Max Boland (8) and Tim “Main Man” Mansour (13 n.o) kept things respectable and ensured that Bay had to work for a well-deserved win. Looking forward to next week.
THE under 16’s made short work of Bay and Basin thanks largely to their skipper Matt Gilkes.
Ulladulla won the toss and sent Bay and Basin into bat.
Opening bowlers Jared Smith (1/8) and Caleb Murray (0/9) bowled economically with Jared taking a wicket, which started Basin’s demise.
First change Ben McCormack (2/7) came on to take a further two wickets leaving Basin wondering what was in the water at Ulladulla.
The best was yet to come with Matt Gilkes showing he is not just a batsman and wicket keeper but in fact a handy bowler, taking a hat-trick and just missing out on a double hat-trick from a no ball followed by another wicket to finish Basin’s innings all out on 37 after 14 overs, all before the spectators had finished their early morning lattes.
Ethan Ford and Bethany Nielsen opened the batting and were looking good until skipper Tom Dolby from Basin bowled Beth, leaving Ulladulla 1/2.
Max Eggins was next in and was looking solid along with Ethan, forming a nice partnership until the dreaded rattle of the stumps was heard by Ethan, who made his top score of the year of 28.
Matt Gilkes made the familiar walk to the crease and worked the ball all around the park to make his first century, which was also unbeaten, for his team this year. Congratulations Matt!
At 3/163 after 30 overs Ulladulla are in a strong position and will be looking for an outright next week.
The team, parents and club would like to wish Matt the best of luck next week when he travels to Hobart to be part of the u17s National Championships for NSW Country/ACT.
