His research has focused on the Brimbramalla mines, located on the Bimberamalla River.
He has spent years researching newspapers, periodicals and mineral resources and is set to publish a book on the subject within the next year.
He has received funding of $1500 towards printing, with all proceeds of the sale going to the Shoalhaven Historical Society.
Brimbramalla is located west of Shallow Crossing.
It’s often referred to as The Brim.
“The idea came to me to do the book and research it when I realised that no one really knew about it,” he said.
Mr Goodland is looking for any photographs or correspondence prior to 1940, especially from the Duffy family, to help with the research.
If you know of any please phone Dennis on 4443 5086.
