Construction will also start on the fixed-wireless network in parts of Bawley Point, where 400 homes will be connected and Ulladulla, where 1600 homes will be connected.
Federal Member for Gilmore Ann Sudmalis said the NBN roll-out in many suburbs and villages had been brought forward.
“Monday’s announcement confirms that construction on fibre (FTTN) connections for 38,410 local homes, and construction on fixed wireless networks for 4,900 homes, will be underway within the next 18 months,” Mrs Sudmalis said.
“This fast-tracked rollout plan is the direct result of many months of local lobbying efforts to Malcolm Turnbull and NBN Co.
“It also means that by June 2016, Gilmore will have one of the highest NBN connection rates in in all of rural and regional NSW.”
Mrs Sudmalis said the Milton-Ulladulla area was next on her agenda.
“I will now be going back to Minister Turnbull to push for the Southern Shoalhaven to be fast-tracked for their rollout too.
“Most Gilmore residents currently on ADSL broadband will see around a 10 times increase in speed from the local NBN network.
“I’m excited to see this rollout get underway”.
