FIFTEEN swimmers from Ulladulla swim club travelled south to Narooma Aquatic Centre for the Annual Qualifying Carnival on Saturday, November 15.

Swimmers were treated to Olympic medallist Alicia Coutts being the special guest at the meet.
Alicia warmed up in the pool with the swimmers and raced in three events. Throughout the day Alicia signed autographs, had photos taken with swimmers and answered their questions.
Some great results were produced with many personal best times.
Well done to Lachlan Hird who competed in his first carnival to place third in the nine years and under 50 metre freestyle.
On Sunday, November 16 20 swimmers attended the Batemans Bay development carnival with some of the swimmers backing up from Saturday.
Swimmers braved the elements with the day starting with showers, the sun came out for the majority of the meet before the southerly hit in the final two events making for difficult conditions.
Overall it was a successful day in the pool with all swimmers producing personal bests or medalling.
A stand out performer of the day was Poppy Tay, who in her six events produced six personal bests and six first placings.
New member to the club, six-year-old Matthew Hussey, came home with three first place medals at his first carnival.

Swim club meets each Wednesday at 5.45pm for 6.15pm start at the Ulladulla Leisure Centre during school terms.
