Jan spent the last two months rallying like-minded ladies together to form a social and working group.
She was passionate about providing a venue for women to get their hands dirty and try everything from woodwork to furniture restoration.
Following her sudden death, members of the group are determined to make Jan’s dream become a reality.
Family and friends of the bubbly and passionate lady are invited to celebrate her life at the Ulladulla ExServos Club auditorium on Saturday December 27 at 11am.
Jan’s daughter Nikki Bounden has requested that people wear colour to reflect her zest for life.
Donations to the Ulladulla Women’s Shed can be made via a collection box.
Shed vice president Jo Gittany said she hopes women will pull together to help make Jan’s dream come true.
“I would like to see it happen for her,” Jo said.
“She was so passionate and determined to get it off the ground.
“I will be doing all I can, but hopefully we can attract more women to join the committee.”
She said a meeting would be held in February to discuss the future of the shed, with two potential sites being considered.
Members have been fundraising via a raffle and with a stall at the Mollymook markets in an effort to raise funds to set up the group.
In the weeks before her death, Jan told the Times she was overwhelmed from the community response to her idea that started with a post on facebook.
She said ladies needed a venue to share their skills, learn from each other and meet like-minded people.
Jo said once the shed is up and running, it would be named in Jan’s honour.
Jan was surrounded by her family when she passed away and will be deeply missed by her husband John children Chris, Danny, Nikki, Kate, Beck and Charn.
She was treasured by her grandchildren:Jake, Luke, Jade, Emma, Cory, Marley, Ella, Lilly, Ted, Colby, Jet and Lenny.
