Ulladulla High year 12 coordinator Michael Ramsden said he was “really pleased” with the school’s HSC results.
He congratulated the top three students who gained marks in the 90s, but said overall it was a “terrific result”.
“We obviously have our high-flyers, but I am particularly pleased with the number of kids that achieved marks in the high 70s and 80s range,” he said.
“They are the ones who put their heads down and worked really hard to achieve their results.
“It’s really pleasing for us to have more than 20 kids at the top of the tree.”
Other high achievers at UHS were Jordan Edwards (89.7), Brittany Shipton (88.95) and school captain Bonnie Hansen (88.15).
Jared said he was “really pleased” with his result and had started year 12 hoping to gain a mark of at least 90.
He was offered a cadetship with Bluescope Steel and will study mechatronics at Wollongong University while working for the company.
The son of David Bellingham and Jen Illingworth of Bawley Point, Jared said he was looking forward to working with computer controlled robots as he completes his seven-year course.
He attained Band Six marks in Maths (95/100), Chemistry (93/100) and Extension Maths 2 (45/50) and also studied Biology, Physics and Advanced English.
Keeley was also pleased with her result which would allow her to study a Bachelor of International Studies at Wollongong University after taking a year off to travel.
The daughter of Kim Stretton of Milton, Keeley told the Times she attained Band Five marks in four subjects including Information Processes and Technology (IPT) (86.5/100) and Business Studies (86.5/100).
Daisee also achieved Band Six results and plans to attend the International College of Management, Sydney for the Business and Event Management degree.
Shoalhaven Anglican School Head of School Tim Knowles said students achieved “solid results across the board”.
“We are really happy with the results and students did well in IPT and Modern history,” he said.
UHS principal Denise Lofts said the school gained 20 places on the HSC Distinguished Achievers List, with three students attaining a Band Six in Music.
Ulladulla High’s Tayla French was the only student from the Milton-Ulladulla district to be included on the HSC Top Achievers List and was ranked fifth in the state in Business Services.
“This group of students were hardworking and dedicated to their studies,” Mrs Lofts said.
“They showed great maturity and stayed united as group, throughout their senior years. “Resilience was certainly part of their make up, showing amazing resilience when things were not going so well.”
Mr Ramsden commended two students, Rheanna Williamson and Laura Marsland who both lost their mothers throughout the year and were supported by their peers to achieve the results needed to further their studies.
He also congratulated Mason Colley who completed his Music exam while still in year 11 and gained a Band Six mark of 96 placing him first in the class.
