Duke, 31, was convicted on a number of charges by Judge Chris Hoy in Sydney’s Downing Centre District Court last Friday, and sentenced to varying sentence lengths ranging from one year up to seven years.

The longest sentence was seven years nine months, with a non-parole period of four years six months jail for one of the robbery charges.

He will not be eligible for parole until February 6, 2020.

He was convicted of three counts of robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon, five counts of steal motor vehicle, take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, fire firearm at other than a dwelling disregarding safety, police pursuit not stop, drive recklessly.

He was also disqualified from holding a driver’s licence for two years.

Duke pleaded guilty to holding up service stations at Albion Park, Tomerong and Batemans Bay between 2am on January 15 and 12.30am on January 16.

Police said Duke was armed with a 7.62mm semi-automatic rifle at the time.

He faced more than 60 charges, and while some were withdrawn the majority were considered during his sentencing.

In March this year Duke was sentenced to a 12-month jail term with a non-parole period of nine months after pleading guilty to escaping from the South Coast Correctional Centre.

Duke escaped from the centre on June 8, 2013 and had been on the run for 19 days before being arrested at an address in Worrigee.
