1.30pm: A Mollymook Surf Life Saving Club spokesperson has reported two people are in the water. 

The Mollymook Jet Rescue Craft and a Westpac Lifesaver Helicopter from Moruya are on their way to provide assistance.

1.25pm: Five people are caught in a rip at Merry Beach, south of Ulladulla.

The people are 80 metres offshore and are clinging to a surfboard.

There is no land based rescue options and and reports are that a helicopter is on its way.
