The Milton mum is leading the charge for a Miss Muddy Festival to be held in the Ulladulla district, providing an opportunity for women and their kids to get fit and have fun.
The five kilometre event has been held all around Australia and organisers are on the look-out for new locations.
Jodie said the obstacle course was filled with mud, foam and colour and was less of a physical challenge than other commando-style event such as Tough Mudder.
“This is an easy course that anyone can do,” she said.
“You don’t have to be super fit or strong, you just need to have a good attitude and know how to have fun.”
Jodie said by going to the missmuddy.com.au website, supporters could vote for the 2539 postcode in an effort to attract the event.
“It would be great for local ladies and would bring thousands of people to the district in the shoulder seasons.
“Anything that brings people to our area is a good thing.”
If there is enough support, organisers would work with Shoalhaven City Council to find a suitable location for the festival, which also includes markets and live music.
Miss Muddy has also recently announced it will be hosting an ‘Obstacool’ course for kids aged five to 12 years to be run in conjunction with the ladies event.
Fiona Butson is also keen to take part, after recently completing the Shoalhaven Mud Muster.
“It’s a good way to form new friendships and create bonds - and it will be great if the kids can take part as well,” she said.
Jodie said groups could dress up, have fun and also raise funds for a charity of their choice if they wanted to.
“It sounds like so much fun and I hope people will vote for our town.”
