This group is part of the Heart Foundation’s walking for health program.
More than 30 walkers, some having been with the group since its inception, plus many newer members, braved the bleak weather to enjoy a brisk walk, then a very enjoyable barbecue, and of course, a birthday cake.
Many thanks to Allen McLaren and Stan Izzard for manning the barbecue.
The Happy Feet walkers are a group of mainly mature aged men and women who meet four days a week, from Tuesday to Friday, at 7.50am at various locations in and around Ulladulla.
Age and fitness level is no barrier as all walkers are encouraged to walk at their own pace.
Following every Friday’s walk is a morning coffee, enabling walkers to mingle and enjoy the great company.
Our wonderful hard working organisers Dorothy and Tony offer an interesting and varied program, and new walkers are always very welcome to join the group.
Details of the walk programs are available every week in the Times Community Diary, or by contacting Dorothy on 44556162.
Throughout the year the group has occasional, day trips which are ‘mystery tours’ and always lots of fun.
Also undertaken during the year are some spectacular weekend walks, led by Ron Smith.
