A good roll up of RATS toed the line, under new starting arrangements, with everyone getting away smoothly.
First in the 10km series and freshened up from his good half marathon debut in Canberra a couple of weeks ago was local medico Kevin Le.
Kevin knocked a whopping five minutes off his handicap, completing the tough course in a net time of 48:08.
Second was Maree Randall (another Canberra half marathoner) running a creditable 55:31.
Rose Robinson picked up the final podium spot and was pleased with her time of 58:13.
Fastest 10km RAT was Paul McDonald with a fine 42:36.
In the 5.5km series, Sharon Whittaker won convincingly, producing a net 31:38 and also taking a huge chunk off her handicap.
Jodie Toghill returning from an injury time out, came second, with a handy 29:24.
Wendy Smith travelled all the way from Wagga Wagga to pick up third spot with a net 33:20.
Fastest time was shared four ways with Sam Harding, Ice, Harm and Jono Schaap, all recording the same net time at 28:20
Super vet Ken Saunders, back briefly from the Gold Coast, ran a time trial 52:56 for the 5.5km course.
Gay picked up the lucky door chocolate for the second time in a row, which was great, as she shared them with the group afterwards, with a coffee at the Beach Hut.
We almost had a completely debacle free morning until Maree Randall inadvertently scooped up Kim’s car keys when gathering her clothes at the conclusion of the event.
After much searching, phone calls, house calls and still no keys, Kim was almost resigned to walking home.
Some time later at the Beach Hut, Maree quietly left briefly and sheepishly reappeared with the keys and will be duly nominated for the ‘Kleptomaniac’ of the year Award.

Next Sunday - May 10, please meet at Burrill Lake Lions Park at 6.30am. Those doing the half marathon program at the moment are looking for about 13km next Sunday.
Our Lake Road and pot holes run is close to that, but can be shortened if desired. Hopefully, the upcoming dry weather will improve the condition of the dirt tracks.
