The open photo for the month of April was Jane Milojevic’s trio of trees.
The original photo of three trees was taken in the countryside around Boorawa during a weekend excursion with a Sydney camera club.
Jane played with the levels in photoshop to achieve greater depth of colour, cropped the image into a more panoramic format, and overlaid a texture to provide further interest.
The texture was provided by another photo of a stone wall at Woolloomooloo, which was taken specifically for the purpose of providing texture to another image.
The April theme was letters in the environment, and this competition was won by Bronwynne Kidson.
The competition required photographers to find letters that made up the word image.
It challenged all members to look and see letters in their everyday lives, and in nature.
Bronwynne had an idea to not only do the theme but incorporate a theme into the images as well.
In her winning image, the theme was in the kitchen.
Bronwynne set about searching for the letters in her kitchen to make the word image.
