This year’s Ulladullirious Comedy Festival will be launched in style, with the first ever Moos-quarade Frocktail Party.
Anyone who likes to have a good time is invited to dress up, laugh lots and have their photo taken with a cow at the opening event on July 30 at Cupitt’s Winery.
Festival coordinator Sarah Watterson said, to celebrate the success of last year’s inaugural comedy festival, and to launch the 2015 event, the committee “made up some words” and came up with the Moos-quarade Frocktail Party.
She said guests would soak up more than three hours of interactive comedy hosted by the Foxy Hornbags and Smart Casual.
“This isn’t a sit-in-your-seat affair, it’s a be-amongst-it and be-part-of-it evening as the comedy happens all around you,” Sarah said.
“The Foxy Hornbags are world class Kath and Kim impersonators, quick witted and always in character.
“Kick back with them and knock back a glass of ‘Cardonnay’.
Sarah said the show offered “great value”, with tickets on sale for $39 (plus booking fee) and including complimentary canapés, with Cupitt’s light meal menu available for purchase during the evening.
She said the rolling green hills and vineyards would provide the perfect backdrop to showcasing the region.
The Foxy Hornbags met singing in a cover band 10 years ago and realised they shared an uncanny likeness to Kath and Kim.
The comedy duo has performed all over Australia and emceed corporate events, parties, conferences and even a wedding or two.
The ladies’ hilarious original comedy, funny songs and interactive routines make them a crowd favourite time and time again.
“So get your g-strings out and power walk your way to the show,” Sarah said.
The Foxy Hornbags share the evening with Smart Casual, the self-proclaimed smartest, most casual comedy duo.
“These low-fi com-rock superstars will have you splitting your frocks, your pants and your sides,” Sarah said.
“They are super smart comedy circuit geniuses who will casually create comedy music about you and perform for the crowd.”
The festival launch will kick start four days of non-stop laughs, with more than 13 events throughout the Milton-Ulladulla district over four days from Thursday July 30 until Sunday August 2.
