Shoalhaven City Council crews have been working on the installation of a new footpath and raised traffic calming devices in the busy street in the Ulladulla CBD for the past month, with traffic diverted around the site.
Council’s Ulladulla office manager said work should be finished by the end of next week, weather permitting, when the road will be reopened to north and south bound traffic.
Six parking spaces near the toilet block will go to make way for the wider footpath and to improve lines of sight for pedestrians and drivers.
The zebra crossing, indicating drivers must give way, will be repainted black and white to distinguish it from the four remaining blue crossing points where pedestrians must give way.
The work is the third stage of the Boree Street upgrade.
