The final round saw Wreck Bay travel to Lighthouse oval to try and prevent Milton from taking out the competition championship in 1st grade.
Milton, needing a win to confirm its status at the top began brightly when Tyge got on the end of some good lead up play to fire home early on.
Plenty of opportunities were created by the home team against an understrength opposition and another good run by man of the match Zac saw him tripped in the box, and he stepped up to calmly hit home the penalty. An unfortunate hand ball in the Milton box soon after saw Wreck Bay pull one back, and at half time things were looking a little uncomfortable.
After some soul searching Milton came out with renewed vigour and Zac scored his second penalty after he made another incision into the Wreckie box and was again fouled.
But The score got back to 3-2 when some sloppy Milton defending released a Wreck Bay attacker into space and from 30 metres he chipped the keeper. It was all hands on deck as Milton strove to regain their 2 goal buffer, and as the pressure mounted so did the Milton play improve, and it was Jake who nicely got on the end of another attacking foray to score and finish the game 4-2 to Milton.
It has been a roller coaster ride at times but now both 1st grade and 2nd grade have become competition champions for 2015. The level of commitment from those who have ridden out the season has been terrific, and now we can look forward to the semi final series to try and achieve the double in both grades. Well done everyone.
The boys played and won against Husky White on Wednesday night, 1-nil, and Saturday, 3-nil
Husky proved to be a strong opponent, keeping the pressure on and leaving everyone watching, white knuckled with their tireless attempts at goal. Rory and Josh.S saved every ball with dedication & nerve.
On Wednesday night Archie scored the winning goal with a huge kick from the mids.
There were many attempts at goal by Elijah, Sam, Darcy, Josh.T,Archie and Josh.S (who nearly scored by heading the ball off a strong kick by Archie ).Jack worked extremely hard at stealing and controlling the ball and Darcy flew down the field.
Aiden, Remy and Taj booted the ball effectively and passed well.
This game sharpened them up as they had to work really hard for a win.
On Saturday the team was determined to win. Sam scored first with a huge kick after a great pass by Archie. Elijah scored next with a decisive kick, after Sam nearly scored off the same ball.
Taj's fantastic kick from down the field scored the next goal.
Jack, Josh.T, Archie, Sam and Remy kept the pressure on Husky. Taj,Aiden and Thom showed great footwork, diverting and booting the ball.
Darcy weaved and danced with the ball. There were headers by Darcy, Josh.T & Remy (who attempted a header into goal). Great running by Rory to manoeuvre the ball up the field.
Josh.S and Rory were once again instrumental in saving the goal from many attempts.
Thanks to Gracie and Kira as cheerleaders, with pompoms supplied by Matt.
Thanks to Marty & Paul for excellent coaching. And thanks to our sponsors The Ex Servos Club,Bendigo Bank & Milton IGA.
The U9W travelled to Nowra on Saturday and the 10 am start was appreciated by parents and kids alike.
The kids played a rematch against United who they played the first game of the season and on that occasion they were clearly the better team so it was always going to be a good test.
The fact we were down on troop's didn't seem to discourage the kids although there were a few nervous parents on the sideline.
Game on and United was off to a flying start with two quick goals before Milton switched on.
Jaxon, Logan and Liam took on United's forwards to halt their momentum and, from there, fleet footed Xavier slotted a goal to put us in the game.
It was end to end action with Milton combining and passing very well. Some of the passing and positional play from Emile was terrific. The scoring halted for a while until Logan beat the last line of defence and slotted a well earned goal. From there United hit back with one of their own in what was shaping up as a very tight match until Jaxon scored a terrific long range goal which he was clearly ecstatic about.
It was a wonderful display of team work with Liam,Rohan and Cooper doing their part also. Very pleasing to watch and a big cheer for our coach for sharing his knowledge.
Seventeen girls played a close match in warm weather last Saturday.
With only three games to go before the season ends on Saturday September 12, the girls are keener than ever and already saying they will miss their soccer over the spring and summer break.
Tomorrow is the final training session for this season. Many thanks to Rick and Pete who have helped on Thursday afternoons.
The skills practised at training have definitely improved the standard of play in the games as evidenced by the following for the girls who played last Saturday.

Anna: long runs with the ball, early shots, great saves as goalie under intense pressure and wide clear goal kicks
Annabelle: excellent reading the play, clear stopping of the ball and constantly in position
Brie: more aggressive defence, strong kicking, into action with a great corner into the box and later on an unlucky shot at goal
Danyah: wide passes, stopping opposition runs and turning play back into own team attacks, constant following through and moving to the ball
Ebony: excellent goalie skills making many saves, long runs and strong kicks, fearless defence
Emily: keeping position, stronger approaches to the ball and defending the opposition
Harmony: early fearless saving goals, strong goal kicks, then long runs and strong kicks through the opposition, clever crossing of the ball to own team

It was a mild and sunny 9.30am kick-off for the 10 players of the Under 10s Black team.
Huskisson was the team they were facing and player numbers were even. Milton came out with determination and early in the first five minutes Jarrah with the help of his fast paced forwards Seth and Fin scored the first goal in the opening minutes.
Huskisson immediately put Milton on the defensive with two close attempts on goal. The first half was a fairly even game with lots of action in both halves.
Connor saved a goal attempt by Huskisson with a great high catch. An equalising goal came from Huskisson 17 minutes into the first half amazingly getting passed our dynamic duo in the backline Malaiah and Tane.
Fin had an attempt on goal hitting the crossbar from a volley, Great effort from Fin, first game back after many weeks off with a broken arm.
Milton kept the pressure on the Huskisson players and defended their goal well until the half-time
whistle blew. Well deserved break and a cold drink was required.
Then the lads for all pumped and ready for the second half. Connor was back in goals in the second half and made some great saves. Taj and Jarrah worked together upfront to get Milton’s second goal, with the help of our mids Cooper and Ashton.
Milton took the opportunity and put away another goal with a little help from the Huskisson goalkeeper. Milton forwards this time with Mitch and Ashton up front the boys made some great runs up the wing crossing the ball in for a good attempt on goal by Cooper.
Huskisson determined not to let the game get away from them put a another goal in half-way
through the second half.
Milton worked incredibly hard in an extra-long match in unseasonably warm weather.
Well done to the Under 10s Black team who were committed to the final whistle.
Thanks to parents and friends to come along and the kids. To our Sponsors, The Milton Ulladulla Ex Servos, Bendigo bank and Elders Insurance, your support is very much appreciated.
The final round of the Youth League B Shoalhaven District Competition was played on August 19.
The Milton Ulladulla Panthers and the Culburra Cougars came together at Culburra Oval for a stoush of epic proportions.
The Panthers were yet to strike up a win against the locals in the 2015 competition and were focussed on breaking the hoodoo in Wednesday night's match.
The match got underway late at 7.00 pm with two Milton Ulladulla volunteers running the side lines to support the referee.
Jordonn was the first of the Milton Ulladulla crew to go close as he had an "almost there but not quite" moment at striking up a goal.
However, the locals were in no mood to cave in to the visitors as their rampant attacking style would attest. Just as play shifted progressively closer to Milton Ulladulla's back line there was a momentary lapse of focus with the Cougars taking advantage and slicing a goal through at a sharp angle.
The score going into half time was 1-nil in favour of Culburra. The resumption of play saw Milton Ulladulla re-energized which bore testimony to the number of occasions the Panthers brought play up and close to the fortress-like Culburra backline. In their zeal to be game changers the Panthers conceded a couple of penalties including a handball.
This did little to intimidate our lads as Culburra were under pressure from onslaught after onslaught at their goal line. As time was on the march Tim, Jack R, Jack B, Jack F and Jordonn all took aim at goal but were either repelled by the uprights or the Cougars tough lines of defence.
When it was all over Culburra took the spoils with a win of 1-nil against an unlucky Milton Ulladulla.
A big thankyou goes to our sponsors the Ex Servos, Elders Insurance and Bendigo Bank for their ongoing support of our club as we look forward to the 2015 finals play-off.
