The property on Mitchell Parade at Bannisters Head was the site of a backyard landslide.

The garden slipped away entirely, and owners were worried about the house slipping.
A geotechnical engineer was called in to assess the situation and confirmed that the house was secure.
“We can’t do much until everything dries out, which could take between two and four weeks” said owner, Sadhana Goulston.
“We will feel much more secure when it is all sured up.”
The suspected cause of the landslide was a sewage line that runs through the yard and is covered by gravel.
This makes the line more vulnerable.
Sadhana is waiting for a response from council as to what the next steps are with the line, and whether there is a permanent solution.
“We are hoping that they might take some responsibility,” she said.
Despite an unsettling week, Sadhana remains positive about the situation.
