As you may have noticed, there was a mix-up in production in the Wednesday, October 7 edition of the Milton Ulladulla Times.
On page 28, a copy of the South Coast Register's sports notes section has run instead of the sports notes that we have put together from the Milton Ulladulla sports area.
We apologise for any inconvenience that this has caused and we are happy to run any of those sports reports again in next Wednesday's edition.
We are still coming to terms with this new system and will endeavour to not let this happen again.
The sports notes are below:

MILTON ULLADULLA MEN BOWLS
Well, the holidays are over and things are beginning to get back to normal again. To all you exhausted fathers and even more exhausted grandfathers, I say come down to the club and have a relaxing game of bowls and let the exertions of the previous two weeks be just fond memories; well at least until the next school holidays. Now there are a couple of things coming up which you should all be aware of. On Saturday 17th of October, we have the Fishers Ghost Bowlers visiting to play a 3 bowls triples game starting at 10.00 a.m., finishing at 1.30 followed by a b.b.q. lunch. This is always a great day so put your names down, and at $13.00/head good value for money. Mufti is the order of the day. Then on Tues. 27th October the ladies club is hosting a mixed ‘‘Colours for Cancer’’ day of 18 ends of bowls at $10.00/head. Morning tea will be provided for a gold coin donation, and all funds raised will go to the Milton Outpatients Cancer Clinic, so please put your names on the board and wear as many bright colours as you can. Also on the notice board the entry form for the Alf Green H’cap Singles - it is always good to put your hand up for this just to see what handicap the selectors give you- then go away and have a good laugh. One more thing - the form is up for next year’s pennants, so gird your loins and have a crack and put your names on the sheet. It is always good to play different players at different greens, very good for your experience of bowling. GYMNASTICS
Another term done and one more to go for 2015. This term our gymnasts will be working on the End of year display. This is always a wonderful way to show parents and friends the skills the children have developed throughout the year. Date and times will be finalised and advertised soon. Unfortunately we have a few more dates that we are unable to use the hall for next term, Monday 5th October (public holiday), the week of 2nd-6th November (Art Week ) and Monday 30th November. Please be sure to mark these on the calendar. It is time again for our Annual General Meeting, which will be held on 4th October. As we are a small committee of volunteers, we require help with many aspects of running the club. We have had a dedicated group for the last few years, but due to work and family commitments some members are unable to be as big a part of the committees as in the past. So, we are calling for help from our wonderful families to give as little or as much as you can to help support our children in the sport they love. Many hands make light work and in the end, it is all for our kids! And as a bonus, we get to have a lovely dinner and some grown up company! Please contact Skye if you are able to come. If you cant make that night and would still like to participate as part of the committee, your time during the year would be much appreciated! A selection of Levels gymnasts have one more competition for the year in Nowra on 1st November. If your gymnast is selected you will receive an email with details shortly. Please remember to ’like’ Facebook, to make sure you keep up to date with all that is happening in the club and visit our web page www.ulladullagymnastics.org or phone : Sue Whitford (Kindergym/Recreational) 44555925, Skye Skinner (Pre-Levels/Levels) 0432362316, Kevin Whitford (Boys) 44555925, Sean Hendry (Tramp) 44553418.

Fourth Grades Clash in Trial The Blues 166 (35) defeated The Golds 155 (35). The two local Fourth Grade sides clashed at Milton Show Ground on Saturday in a trial match. The weather was hot and getting even hotter as the play commenced at 11am In the scorebook the winner of the toss was noted as being won by – ‘‘Who cares’’. The Show Ground was mown and the crease lines were freshly marked as the Young Development side, The Golds, batted first and the more experienced senior side, The Blues took the field to bowl. The Gold’s opening batsmen were Anton Carriage and the seasoned Mal Granger. Anton was the first to go after seeing off the new ball bowlers Bryce Goldfinch and Kane Morgan, only to be bowled by Julias Machado. Mal went on to make 35 in an innings which convinced him to play on again this season. Rob Stewart, also in his first appearance, bowled left arm loopers and claimed Mal’s wicket, caught in the deep by Kane Morgan. Dale Jarrett smashed the ball to all parts on his way to 50 retired with 3 sixes and 4 fours. Murray Saywell, having his first game behind the stumps as wicketkeeper, performed outstandingly taking an inside edge catch off bowler Robbo. Scott Granger, playing for the first time, chipped in as well as son Jayden who collected a clean bowled. Gold’s skipper Tony Lavalle was among the runs with 16 while Eli King, Drew and Jay Ramsden all looked solid in defence contributing vital runs at the end of the innings. Kane Morgan helped himself to another catch while Cordale Bakouris and Blues skipper Darren Smith earnt wickets. Golds 155 off 35 overs. In this special trial match everyone would bowl 3 overs and would receive a first ball free hit when batting. In the blazing heat it was time for the Blues to bat. Openers Cordale and Julias did well with an opening partnership of 62m. Running 3’s at Milton is never easy yet these two managed it on multiple occasions. Jay Ramsden claimed the first wicket, Cordale for 40, while the legspin of Eli King proved to be irresistible for Julias out caught by President Tony Lavalle for 22. Greg Churchill 16, Laurie Potent 22 and Kane Morgan 14 retired, are a middle order that promises much with all 3 clearing the fence on one occasion. Bryce Goldfinch was retired for a well compiled 19 while Rob Stewart earnt 3 runs with good batting. At the other end Drew Ramsden bowled the unfortunate Scott Granger for a duck. Issac King spun his way to a wicket as a late bowling replacement. The spirit this match was played in was terrific, a great way to commence the season. Congratulations to all players organisers and spectators on a great day. The season proper commences on Saturday, good luck to all. Blues hero of the day – Cordale for his 40 and a well earned wicket.
RUNNING
Ulladulla RATS - Runners and Triathletes:
RATS Handicap # 9 Narrawallee Flat – 4th October 2015: Surprisingly warm conditions prevailed at Narrawallee, even at the Daylight Saving adjusted start time of 7:00 am. Many runners opted for the shorter distance of 5 km, however a few diehards and the main series point score contenders ran the full 10 km. With only one more race to go this season, points were crucial. In the 10km series, Sydney member Brendan Gay greeted the judge in first place, recording a net time of 53:06. Maree Randall established a new age group (F55-59) record, coming in second with a net 54:49. Regular visiting member from the ACT, Margot McGinness came in third on handicap, recording 64:31. Another highlight was the new age group record set by Kevin Le (M40-44). This was also the fastest 10km time of the morning, Kevin ran a net 49:21. In the 5.5km series, thoroughbred veteran Don Miller made it two in a row, winning again with a new age group record (M75-79) of 28:00. This is high quality running as Don goes into a new age bracket next year. Second was Janet Millwood who ran a fine 28:20. Apologies to Janet, we thought she had set a new age record (F55-59) however, we realised later that Maree Randall holds this record at 25:12. Third place went to Dion Carter, who was the fastest RAT of the morning. Dion was determined to better his 20:00 set last year and he did so with a seemingly effortless 19:45. A handful of RATS headed off for Coffee and a chat at Tallwood, which was buzzing on this holiday weekend. Thanks to John Hepburn for timekeeping duties, freeing up Martin for a hit out at the 5km. 5.5 Km Series, Time, Don Miller, 28:00 (20 pts), Janet Millwood, 28:20 (19 pts), Dion Carter, 19:45 (18 pts), Ice Schaap, 20:27 (17 pts), Martin Tomasini, 20:27 (TT), Kim Waters, 26:46 (TT), Aimee Randall, 27:17 (TT), Lauri Perino, 28:22 (TT), Jack Robertson, 35:35 (TT), 10 Km Series, Time, Brendan Gay, 53:06 (20 pts), Maree Randall, 54:49 (19 pts), Margot McGinness, 64:31 (18 pts), Kevin Le, 49:21 (17 pts), Noel Weeks, 49:47 (TT), TT = Time Trial Next Sunday - 11 October 2015: Please meet at Burrill Lake Lions Park at 6.30am. RUGBY LEAGUE
The 2015 junior league on field season may have finished now however there is still lots happening with the club during the off season. Some important dates to remember are; Thursday 15th October – we are holding our AGM at the Ex Servos commencing at 7pm, if you are interested in becoming a Committee member please contact Kevin Whitford (ph 4455 5925) to obtain your membership form. Sunday 18th October – presentation day, this is being held in the Sea Salt function centre commencing at 11am with a BBQ lunch being provided for all players. If you are the current holder of any perpetual trophies please ensure that they are returned to Sue Whitford as soon as possible. The last Friday of every month the club hosts a BBQ at the Supa IGA Ulladulla as part of their Community Chest BBQ, this is a very important BBQ to the club as all money raised each month goes directly to the club with Supa IGA Ulladulla donating all items on the day. The BBQ is held between 10am – 1pm so if you are able to assist on these days please let us know. Our weekly meat raffles at the Ex Servos are on every Friday, ticket sales commence at 6pm, with the draw for the 40+ meat trays commencing at 7pm. By supporting our raffles you in turn are supporting our major sponsors of Ulladulla Ex Servos and Sea Salt Restaurant, the club has lots to offer on Friday night apart from our raffles, there is the kids club, members badge draws and live entertainment. Please come along any Friday to assist, I know a lot of our younger players like to don the jersey and help hand out prizes and we are quite happy for them to continue to do so on any given Friday. Likewise if there are any parents who would like to assist selling tickets please contact Paul (0405 567 095) or Sharon (0406 977 101) the system is quite easy to learn and if you are able to assist one Friday in the month that would be fantastic. If all coaches could please ensure that they return all gear (footballs, dome cones, bags etc) to Funnel as soon as possible, if you are still holding your score book from this season please pass this onto Sharon Dowton or Sue Whitford
