The rooms will host distance education students as well as cater for community meetings and training.
Gayle Dunn from the Dunn Lewis Foundation said work had taken 12 months, with classrooms built under the verandah and a massive shell erected over the 2500 square metre multi purpose centre.
She said another $3 million was needed to fit-out the centre and to provide additional car parking.
Gayle has been applying for grants to provide interior walls, a stage, amenities, air conditioning, lighting and a rock climbing wall in the facility, as well as a state-of-the-art gymnastics centre.
The recent work, to the tune of $2 million, was carried out thanks to a Commonwealth grant sourced by Federal Member for Gilmore Ann Sudmalis who joined Gayle in cutting the ribbon before touring the rest of the complex on Friday.
“I would love to see the final stage start as soon as possible,” Gayle said.
